About this calculator
Cashing out GH₵1,000 at an MTN agent costs GH₵10, and anything above GH₵2,000 costs a flat GH₵20, as confirmed on MTN Ghana's own fee page in November 2026.
How it's worked out
MTN prices MoMo cash-outs in three bands, published on MTN Ghana's help centre and last updated 7 October 2026:
- Below GH₵50: a flat GH₵0.50
- GH₵50 to GH₵2,000: 1% of the amount (this band rose from a flat GH₵10 cap)
- Above GH₵2,000: a flat GH₵20 (up from GH₵10)
Sending money to another MoMo user, cashing in at an agent, and registering a MoMo wallet are all free. The 1% Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy) that used to apply to MoMo transfers was scrapped from 2 April 2025, so it no longer adds to either figure.

GH₵10 (1% of the amount) at an MTN MoMo agent, as of November 2026.
Is sending money on MTN MoMo free?
Yes. MTN doesn't charge the sender or receiver to move money between MoMo wallets; the fee only applies when you cash out at an agent.
How much does it cost to cash out GH₵5,000 on MoMo?
A flat GH₵20, the same fee that applies to any cash-out of GH₵2,000 or more.
