About this calculator

On US$1,000 a month, PAYE is US$215 and the AIDS levy US$6.45, so US$221.45 in total, leaving US$778.55 before NSSA and other deductions.

How it's worked out

  1. Your US dollar pay is taxed in ZIMRA's monthly bands: 0% up to US$100, then 20%, 25%, 30%, 35% and 40% on pay above US$3,000.
  2. The AIDS levy is 3% of that PAYE. The calculator includes it in the tax figure.
  3. NSSA, pension and medical aid aren't included, so your payslip will show a little less take-home pay.

ZIMRA publishes the same tables in ZiG. Our ZIMRA PAYE tax tables guide has both, with ZIMRA's multiply-and-deduct shortcut.

Frequently asked questions

How much tax do I pay on US$500 in Zimbabwe?

PAYE is US$90 (25% of US$500, minus US$35), plus a US$2.70 AIDS levy, so US$92.70 a month.

Is the AIDS levy included in PAYE?

It's charged on top: 3% of your PAYE. This calculator shows the two together.

Are the 2025 ZIMRA tax tables still used in 2026?

Yes. The 2026 budget didn't change the USD PAYE bands, so ZIMRA's 2025 tables still apply.
