Open your M-Pesa statement

Your statement never leaves this device. It's read here, in your browser, and nothing in it is sent to SwiftPesa or anyone else. Close the page and it's gone.

About this tool
Choose the M-Pesa statement PDF Safaricom emailed you and type the password from the SMS. This M-Pesa statement analyzer reads every transaction on your own device: nothing is uploaded.
It separates your real income from Fuliza, loans and money you moved from your own bank, adds up your M-Pesa transaction charges and Fuliza fees, and checks its totals against the statement's own summary. The full report adds a loan-ready monthly summary, possible tax reliefs (insurance, SHA, pension, mortgage), an eTIMS checklist for business expenses and an Excel file with every transaction tagged, so you can turn your M-Pesa statement into Excel in one tap.
Example: someone who used Fuliza 53 times in a month paid about KES 980 in Fuliza fees on top of KES 1,360 in M-Pesa charges, roughly KES 27,500 a year.
How the M-Pesa statement analyzer works
- Get your statement. Request a full M-Pesa statement in the M-PESA app or on *334# → My Account → M-PESA Statement, pick the period and your email. Safaricom emails a PDF and sends the password by SMS. Our guide on how to get your M-Pesa statement covers each step and what to do if the password doesn't come.
- Open it here. Choose the PDF and type the password. Your phone reads it: the statement is never uploaded, and closing the page clears it.
- Check the totals. We add up every row and compare it with the "Paid in" and "Withdrawn" totals Safaricom prints in the statement's summary, so you know nothing was missed.
- Tell us what's what. Tap whether money from your bank is income or your own money, and which payments are for your business. Every total updates.
What counts as real income?
Money that lands in M-Pesa isn't all income. The analyzer leaves out:
- Fuliza advances ("OverDraft of Credit Party") and mobile loans such as M-Shwari or KCB M-Pesa: borrowed money, not earnings.
- Your own money moved in from your bank or SACCO, or out of M-Shwari or Lock Savings.
- Reversals, which are your own money coming back.
The same applies on the way out: Fuliza and loan repayments, transfers to your own bank account and M-Pesa charges are shown separately from your spending.
How Fuliza fees are worked out
Fuliza fees don't appear as separate rows. Each repayment ("OD Loan Repayment") includes them. The analyzer takes what you repaid minus what you borrowed over the statement. That's an estimate, because Fuliza you owed when the statement started or still owed at the end shifts it a little. Over six months it is close.
Tax: reliefs and eTIMS
- Insurance relief: 15% of life, education or health insurance premiums, up to KES 5,000 a month, for resident individuals. You need a premium certificate from the insurer.
- Deductions since December 2024: SHIF contributions, post-retirement medical fund contributions (up to KES 15,000 a month), pension contributions (up to KES 30,000 a month) and mortgage interest on your home (up to KES 360,000 a year) are deductible. See KRA's notice.
- eTIMS: from 1 January 2026, KRA checks the business expenses in your return against eTIMS invoices. Payments to suppliers you tag as business expenses are listed with what you need: an eTIMS invoice from tills and paybills, or a receipt when you paid a person. Some payments are exempt, such as insurance premiums, bank charges and services bought from abroad by card.
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to use my M-Pesa statement here?
Yes. The PDF is opened and read by your own browser, the way a PDF viewer would. Nothing from it is sent to SwiftPesa or anyone else. When you pay for the full report, only a fingerprint (a code made from the statement's dates and receipt numbers, which can't be turned back into them) is saved with the order. Never share your M-Pesa PIN: this tool doesn't need it, and only asks for the PDF password.
What is the M-Pesa statement password?
It's a code Safaricom sends by SMS to your registered number when you request the statement. Each statement has its own password, so an old one won't open a new statement.
Can I convert my M-Pesa statement to Excel?
Yes. The full report includes an Excel workbook with every transaction (date, receipt, details, counterparty, category, tag, paid in, withdrawn, balance), plus monthly and category sheets that update when you change a tag.
Which statement is best for a loan application?
Lenders and SACCOs usually ask for the last three to six months. The loan-ready summary shows your average monthly income, spending and M-Pesa balance and how often you used Fuliza, the same things a lender looks at.
Does it work for business tills or other mobile money?
It reads personal M-Pesa statements from Safaricom (Kenya). Till and paybill statements from the M-PESA business portal have a different layout and aren't supported yet.
